Students in Industrial Maintenance and Mechatronics were recognized at the 2018 Mohawk Safety Conference today for being part of the inaugural class of students to earn the 10-Hour OSHA Certification.

Students in Industrial Maintenance and Mechatronics at the Gordon County College and Career Academy were recognized at the 2018 Mohawk Safety Conference held at Georgia Northwestern Technical College for being part of the inaugural class of students to earn the 10-Hour OSHA Certification.   Mohawk Industries, one of the Academy’s strongest partners, provided the training material and the personnel needed to certify these students. Students were presented with their OSHA Certifications by Mohawk Safety Personnel, LaTina Wilkins, instructor for the course and Terry Craft, Director of Corporate Safety.

While students were at the conference, they had an opportunity to visit with different vendors who provide safety materials to industies all over the nation. Students experienced virtual reality training simulators that helped students understand the importance of understanding the right equiptment, spoke with vendors about different options for PPE, tools, and got to see (and hear) the Fastenal Nascar up close.

Congrats to our students on their hard work obtaining these certificaitons. And thanks again to our industry partner Mohawk for providing this opportunity and recognizing our students in such an amazing way!
