In order to help our student succeed in whatever they do after high school we have re-evaluated how we assess achievement at the GCCCA and have incorporated these two new rubrics!

In order to help the students of the Gordon County College and Career Academy succeed in whatever they do after high school. This year the GCCCA is introducing an all new Agency Rubric to be used in conjunction with the 21st Century Soft Skills rubric we have used in the past.

The purpose of Agency within the GCCCA is to evaluate how students push themselves to take ownership of their education and the acquisition of 21st Century skills that are vital to success in both college and the workplace.

Today’s students do not just need to understand 21st Century skills.  But rather need to understand how to identify, acquire, and use 21st century skills.  The goal of measuring agency is measuring a student’s ability and willingness to learn from mistakes, take calculated risks, seek intentional challenges, build meaningful relationships, participate, monitor their own learning and seek valuable feedback on what they do.

These skills in conjunction with 21st century skills will result in students who are not only educated in content area information, but are self-aware and ready to tackle any challenge they face after high school!
